Stockholm Vasteras Airport, a small Swedish airport operating in the city of Vasteras, offers visitors the convenience and ease of flying into a hassle-free environment. Who to Book With
The desks of four car hire suppliers can be found right at the main entrance door of the airport. The companies represented here are Hertz, Europcar, Sixt and Avis. Airport administration advises that those who need a car upon arrival at the airport should make a booking in advance.

Driving
The airport is only a short distance from the E18. From this motorway, you can drive west towards the town of Vasteras or east towards Stockholm, around 60 miles away. Alternatively, at the 143-Trafikplats Annelund interchange, you can keep to the right and follow signs for Uppsala, another city found north of Stockholm which is worth visiting. The motorways of Sweden have tolls. In fact, those driving into Stockholm during the daytime will need to pay a congestion toll of around £1 to £2. When you rent a car, you need to inquire with your rental company as to whether the cost of the tolls is included.

Transport

Driving in Sweden offers travellers the great experience of truly seeing the country's beautiful countryside. You can begin your road trip from Stockholm Vasteras Airport. Otherwise, you have a number of transport options to get you between Stockholm and this air hub.

Trains
Vasteras is served by a train station, which is located in the city centre. Trains are run by SJ. There are about five departures from Vasteras to Stockholm every day. The high-speed SJ trains take about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Fares start at £10. From the airport, there is a public taxi shuttle which runs to the station.

Taxis
Taxis are available right outside the terminal building. The main provider is Flygtaxi. There are also public taxi shuttles which usually depart 20 minutes after a flight arrives. The shuttle travels from the airport towards the train station of Vasteras.

Buses
Coaches are available to take travellers between Vasteras Airport and Stockholm. The final destination in the capital is the City Terminal. The ride takes 1 hour and 10 minutes, and a ticket costs £14 one-way.

Facilities

Terminals
Stockholm Vasteras Airport is a small airport and therefore it only has one terminal building. Only one airline uses the airport for commercial flights—Ryanair. There are regular flights to London-Stansted, while flights to a few destinations in Spain are seasonal.

Parking
The short-term parking lot is found in front of the terminal building. The long-term parking lot, which can accommodate more cars, can be found further away. Both are within walking distance. About £1.50 buys you 40 minutes of parking at the short-term parking lot or an hour at the long-term parking lot.

Wi-Fi
Paid Wi-Fi is available at the airport. You need to subscribe to Telia Homerun to use the service. You can buy subscription at the airport information desk. An internet access point is also available at the Departures hall. To use it, you can pay via credit card.

The information desk is located in the Departures hall. You will find it to your left after you enter the airport.

Accessibility
Parking for handicapped passengers is provided right outside the terminal building. Use of handicapped persons’ parking is free for 24 hours. If parking for longer than a day, the long-term parking provides free parking for the handicapped.

Restaurants and Bars
The Sky Bistro serves beverages as well as sandwiches and other snacks at the airport. It is located right beside the entrance of the terminal building.

VIP Lounges
There are no VIP lounges at Stockholm Vasteras Airport.

Money and ATMs
There are no ATMs, banks or currency exchange counters at the airport.

Shopping
Euroshop provides duty-free items such as liquor and tobacco, in addition to gifts, toys, sweets and perfumes. It can be found right after you go through security, before the waiting lounge.
