In 2010, Airports Council International named Humberside International Airport Europe's best airport. It has an annual passenger throughput of less than two million people. Taxis are available at this North Lincolnshire airport 24 hours, while the nearest rail station, Barnetby, lies just three miles away.

Who to Book With
Avis and Europcar are Humberside International Airport's two main car hire providers. Representatives from both of these internationally acclaimed chains stand ready at the terminal building Arrivals area.

Driving
Driving along this portion of North Lincolnshire, situated near the middle of England's east coast, is generally relaxing and enjoyable. The nearest sizeable community, Grimsby, lies just a dozen miles east of Humberside International Airport. The historic cities of Scunthorpe and Kingston upon Hull are both just a 15 mile drive away along the A18, while Junction 5 of the M180 is a mere three miles away. Driving in North Lincolnshire, like elsewhere in England, is on the left side.

Passengers can easily take taxis or two different buses from the airport to several North Lincolnshire communities as well as to the nearby Barnetby railway station.

TransPennine Express and East Midlands Trains are the two rail lines which stop regularly at Barnetby Station, the closest rail link to Humberside International Airport. Taxis are the easiest way to travel the three miles between Barnetby Station and the airport. TransPennine Express fares from Barnetby Station to Manchester Piccadilly vary between £10 and £20 for standard class tickets and between £20 to £30 for first class tickets, but passengers can save up to 50 per cent on ticket costs by making advance purchases. One-way East Midlands Trains tickets between Barnetby and East Midlands Parkway cost less than £30.

Taxis
Cable Taxis may be the official Humberside International Airport provider, but roughly 10 more taxi operators also travel to and from the airport. Cable Taxi journeys can be arranged in advance by phone or inside the terminal building. Taxis are available 24 hours.

Taxi prices:
