Located within a short drive east of Darlington, in north East England, and south of Durham, the famous university town, is Durham Tees Valley Airport, also referred to as Teesside International Airport. It is a fairly small airport, but modern, and receives a large number of scheduled and charter flights each year.

The airlines operating flights from the airport include Eastern Airways, Ryan Air, TNT Airways, bmi and Flyglobespan.

Airport Facilities

The airport boasts a full range of facilities including two bureaux de change in the main concourse, ATMs, a Thomas Cook bureau de change, an information desk at the entrance and also an array of bars and restaurants. Those who want to shop can find a WH Smiths outlet and a few duty-free shops. Payphones can be found throughout the main concourse.

Business facilities can be provided upon request at the information desk. You can find fax machines, telephones and photocopying facilities at the Business Centre. Durham Airport is equipped with disabled facilities and Special parking spaces which are located 100 metres from the terminal, while special toilets are provided throughout the airport.

There are both short-term and long-term parking spaces available at the airport, within walking distance of the terminal. The main car park is located right in front of the airport.

Transport

By car
The airport is easily accessible from both the outskirts and the centre of Darlington. If you want to drive from Darlington, it's best to follow the A67 to Yarm, from where you will see signs for the airport. If you are travelling north to south it is far quicker to travel along the A1(M) or the A19. From these roads, you can join the A66 and then follow the signposts to the airport.

From the airport, there is an airport taxi rank in front of the terminal, while car hire desks are situated inside the terminal building.
