Ostersund is located in the centre of Sweden on the shores of Lake Storsjon and is one of the main winter sports towns in the country. The pedestrian-only Prastgatan, and adjoining quarter, is the main thoroughfare of the town, full of exciting cafes, pubs and restaurants. Not far away is the unique Jamtli History Land Museum with live animals depicting country life of times gone by. Alternatively, Bathhouse Park is a wonderful spot for relaxing.

Every July, hordes of exhilarated visitors gather to take part in the Storsjoyran Music Festival, a street festival culminating in three days of intensive partying with music by both Swedish and internationally famous artists. Ostersund is also known as Sweden’s most popular dance town and there is a plethora of dance venues and discotheques.
