La Gomera Ferry Port Guide

One of the Canary Islands, La Gomera is one of the quietest of the group. It still has its fair share of visitors, but is mostly visited for its beauty and culture. It has some local specialities, such as wine and cheese, and is also associated with Christopher Columbus. Car rental at La Gomera Ferry Port is the best way to see the island.

There are not many attractions on this small island, but the most important is a house in San Sebastian, which is where Christopher Columbus stayed during his brief visit to the island before he set out for America. There are other attractions on the island, but they are mainly of the natural variety.

This is a stunning island, with many grand views. Drive out to Garajonay National Park, with car hire at La Gomera Ferry Port, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site, to take in the beauty of the island. It is possible to hike through the mountains and forests here.

While driving around the island with the available cheap car hire at La Gomera Ferry Port, stop at the vineyards and orchards on the mountains' lower slopes for some lovely photographs. Also, don't forget to try the local wine and miel de Palma - a sweet syrup produced on the island.
