Costa Calma is situated in the south of Fuerteventura on one of the Canary Islands. It is almost a purpose-built holiday town with plenty of hotels, restaurants and bars, as well as shops and some of the best beaches on the island. The town is like an oasis in the desert, with palm trees lining the streets as you enter.

Using a car rental at Costa Calma Taro Beach is an ideal way to travel around the area. The influx of tourists over the past 25 years has improved the development of the area and there are plenty of shops, sites, bars and restaurants if the sun gets too much.

Development is on-going here and there is always something being built in the area. They do try to keep it fitting in with its surroundings, being tastefully done and with not too many constructions going on at one time.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
