There are three popular beaches in San Sebastian including; Playa de la Concha, Playa de Gros and Ondaretta. The most scenic beach out of the three is most definitely La Concha, a crescent shaped white sandy beach which stretches right around the bay. Towering behind these beaches is the magnificent Mount Igeldo, where visitors can take a ride to the peak to check out the spectacular view.

The old quarter of San Sebastian, known as Parte Vieja consists mainly of pretty cobbled, narrow, winding streets with an array of old buildings for tourists to enjoy. The district is also popular for its beautiful cuisine, drinking bars and great entertainment. San Sebastian was once a walled city and you can still see part of the murallas de la ciudad (city walls). The architecture and street lamps are reminiscent of Paris, and for this reason it is known as the Área Romántica (Romantic Area).

The old quarter has many waterside bars and restaurants along its narrow, noisy streets. If you enjoy tapas then you're in for a treat as this is a delicacy here, especially in the fanciest bars. There are always many shellfish merchants hanging around the side of the harbour catching the freshest of fish. The nicest clubs are along the beach promenade, Paseo de la Concha, or you can hang out with the more bohemian crowd in the Reyes Católicos behind the Baroque cathedral.
