Figueras Guide

Around 70 miles north of Barcelona close to the border with France is the city of Figueras. It was the birthplace of Salvador Dali, who was an artist that painted surrealist works that stretched the imagination and eyes. A museum designed by the man himself is located in the heart and is one of the biggest attractions of the area.

Cheap car hire in Figueras is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding countryside. The Pyrenees mountain range is not that far away and area a great attraction year-round. Skiing and winter sports take most of the action in the colder months, while summer time offers outstanding views across to France and closer to Andorra.

As well as the museum for Dali there is one dedicated to toys over the ages and is home to an incredible 4,500 objects with some used to belonging to famous people. The regional museum is home to artifacts dating back to Greek times and other periods through history.

With a car rental in Figueras visitors can head east to the coastline and visit one of the largest marina towns in the world. There is more than 20 miles of canals and is home to some 80,000 people during the summer. There is also a beach on the coast there that is popular and lined with bars and restaurants.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?
