Cangas de Onis Guide

The pretty mountain town of Cangas de Onis sits right up in the north of Spain in the autonomous region of Asturias. Picking up car rental in Cangas de Onis is a must for visiting the nearby Picos de Europa National Park, one of Europe's most stunning protected areas.

Cangas de Onis is an ancient town that was established way over a thousand years ago. After exploring the old town on foot, your best bet is to have a drive around with car hire in Cangas de Onis. There is some fantastic countryside very nearby and many scenic spots to drive to.

The Parque Nacional de los Picos de Europa (Picos de Europa National Park) is the main attraction here, though. It is just southeast of town, accessed via historical Covadonga, and comes with many kilometres of fantastic driving. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
