Caleta de Fuste Guide

Whether you are a beginning or advanced diver, Caleta de Fuste on Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands is waiting to amaze and thrill you.

Six dive schools dot the island, but one of the best in all of Europe is located in Caleta de Fuste. Fourteen dive sites are no more than 15 minutes away. Dive centers on Fuerteventura include El Jablito, Las Salinas, Anchor Reef, Miguel's Rock, and Oasis. Caleta de Fuste, however, boasts one of the best dive schools in all of Europe, the award-winning Deep Blue dive school.

From shallow dives for beginners to deep dives for advanced scuba divers, Caleta de Fuste has it all. Canyons, slots, plateaus, walls, and shelves teem with marine life. Seahorses, breams, sardines, and octopus are common. If you want to see big fish, this is the place to go.

On Castillo Reef you might glimpse an eagle ray, grouper, moray eel, or barracuda. Salinas Reef has ten dive sites, including drift dives for beginner to advanced divers. On the reef are turtles, big stingrays over 6 feet wide, and even an occasional hammerhead shark.

The dive site El Portal is your best chance to see big fish. Tunas over seven feet long, five-foot long amberjacks, massive whalesharks, big octopuses, and squid swim in these waters. Bring your underwater camera, for these are rare sights coveted by the most experienced diver.

When you are not diving, there are many other activities to enjoy. Two 18-hole golf courses, boat trips, a glass-bottomed boat, windsurfing, surfing, and jet skis will delight both families and couples. Speaking of couples, you can even get married underwater here!

Dive centers can book your hotel for you in Caleta de Fuste, or you can choose from an assortment of hotels, bungalows, and apartments. Good restaurants are easy to find and include steakhouses, Chinese, Greek, Mexican, Indian, and English cuisine.

Whether you are a family or a couple, Caleta de Fuste's low-key atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing dive holiday. The people there are warm and friendly and will welcome you with open arms.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

Only rental companies with a high level of customer satisfaction are eligible to be included in our Worry-Free selection. This rate includes excess cover and unlimited kilometres. Your vehicle will be provided and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. With a vehicle from our Worry-Free selection, you can travel with peace of mind and no hidden costs.

 How can I change or cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).

 When will I get a confirmation of my booking?

Most reservations will receive confirmation within minutes after payment takes place. We recommend contacting our Booking Department for last minute reservations (pick-up within 48 hours).
