Caceres is a national landmark and the capital of Extremadura. The city if surrounded by old walls and scattered with towers and palaces preserving the rich historical ancestry of the country.

Throughout the streets of Caceres are beautiful Roman and Arab walls enclosing the Old Town. You will notice the medieval towers restored with pride. The largest of the towers is at the Plaza del General Mola and beside it you will find the El Arco de la Estrella built in the 18th century.

The hotels of Caceres offer visitors quality accommodations and great service. The Hotel Extremadura's rooms are comfortable and immaculate and the hotel features a bar, restaurant and health spa. Melia Caceres is known for excellent service and attention to details. The hotel is a converted Renaissance palace near the entrance to the Old Town. Its rooms are sunny and spacious and nicely appointed with modern furnishings.

Restaurants in Caceres mostly feature a Spanish flavor to their menu. The Atrio serves the finest cuisine of the area. They are located in a shopping area, but the inside décor is elegant and a little unique for the area. Their menu is a blend of rich regional flavours and Continental fare. El Figon is one of the older establishments in Caceres and has been a local favourite for years. The menu is varied from a honey soup to solomillo - a filet of beef as well as typical Spanish specialties.

To get a modern glimpse of the town, book car hire and drive a few minutes west of the town centre to the Centro Comercial Ruta de la Plata. You'll find a selection of intimate shops, boutiques, cafés and snack bars. Shops offer a range of housewares and high fashion and the cafés are a favourite place to relax and take in the beauty of the town.

Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.
