Ayamonte Guide

The Spanish resort of Ayamonte is located close to the Portuguese border in Huelva province which is part of Andalucia. Unless you plan to spend your entire holiday on the beach, it is really a good idea to get car hire in Ayamonte, as public transportation in the area is rather limited.

The town of Ayamonte is located on Spain's Costa de la Luz meaning the Coast of Light'. It is a delightful town and for golf enthusiasts, there are many world class golf courses nearby which can easily be reached with cheap car hire in Ayamonte.

The nearest airport to Ayamonte if Faro Airport in Portugal which is about a 35 minute drive away. Alternatively, you could fly into Seville Airport, the principal city in Andaluca which is a one hour 30 minute drive away.

Ayamonte is located near to the E1/A49 motorway which makes visiting other towns and villages within Andaluca and Spain very easy with car rental in Ayamonte. A good map of the area is recommended. The tourist information centre close to the marina provides handy maps and guides of the region.

Great beaches away from Ayamonte that you can explore include San Miguel, Playa del Rompido and Nuevo Portil. These are very picturesque beaches with beautiful pine forests as a backdrop.

Further afield but easily accessible with a car is Jerez which is just under two hours away. You can be in Gibraltar in 2 hours and 30 minutes, Lisbon or Marbella in three hours. Madrid is about six hours and 30 minute drive.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?
