Pite?ti is the seat and the largest city of Arge? county in Romania, but it is most popular with the place where Dacia automobiles are produced.

It is situated on the A1 (E81), 113-km-long motorway, which connects Pite?ti with Bucharest. It is important industrial and commercial center, as well as university center, as there are situated two universities.

The bad fame of the city is related with the Pite?ti prison: a place of political repression and brainwashing during the early years of the communist regime in the country.

You can easily call Pite?ti �The city of the churches� - many churches with precious architecture were built in the city in The Middle Age. You will get memorable impressions visiting the Buna Vestire-Greci �Sfantul Mina� church, dated from XIV century or Biserica Domneasca �Sfantul Gheorghe� church, built in 1656 and being the most popular medieval church in the city. Continue your walk to �Sfanta Treime� church, Biserica �Meculesti� church or the Hermitage �Trivale�.

Probably the best place for accommodation in the city is the new Victoria Hotel, built in 2003. The hotel is situated in the hart of the city, in its large commercial, tourist and cultural area.
