Sesimbra Guide

Sesimbra is a town in Portugal and is part of the Setúbal district. It is surrounded by a mountain range that runs between Setúbal and Sesimbra. The town is also near the bay and the mouth of the Sado River, and the primary commercial activity is fishing. The town is also a popular tourist location due to its fantastic beaches and active nightlife. One of the ways to reach Sesimbra is by car hire.

There are many things for a tourist to do in Sesimbra. The beach offers many resorts, water sports and boat rides, and is an ideal family vacation spot. Apart from the beach there are a number of sightseeing attractions, such as a Moorish Castle located on top of one the surrounding hills. The castle offers magnificent views of the city and surrounding country side. Additionally there's even a Portuguese fort in the coastal town, and one can compare the two structures and find some rather interesting discoveries.

There is also a church near the Moorish castle, church Nossa Senhora do Castelo, which is a must see. Apart from these places of interest, Sesimbra also boasts a national park, the Arrábida National Park. The park offers some great views of the country side and is the perfect place for a picnic or to check out the local flora and fauna. Apart from this the more modern traveller can enjoy the number of nightclubs that are found throughout the city, the town has in fact made a name for itself as having one of the more happening nightlife scenes among the coastal towns. There are also a number of restaurants and pubs for visitors looking to try the local cuisine and ale.

Sesimbra has a wide variety of attractions and is a must for any tourist who plans on visiting Portugal.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).

Most reservations will receive confirmation within minutes after payment takes place. We recommend contacting our Booking Department for last minute reservations (pick-up within 48 hours).
