I extended the rental period

I extended the rental period with 2 extra days with Budget without any problems. However it proved impossible to extend the extra insurance I had taken out from Traveljigsaw (using carrentals.co.uk) with 2 days to cover the extra days. Disappointing!

Hoorn is a city in the North Holland province of the Netherlands and is located 40 km north of Amsterdam. This city is a great place to visit if you are planning a holiday with your family to the Netherlands. You will get to see the Toy Museum, the Hoofdtoren, the Galerie Oost 99, and a whole lot more. If you want to see the great tourist sites of Hoorn, or maybe pop into Amsterdam then consider renting car. Alamo, Avis, Europcar and Hertz are just a few of the car hire companies that provide car hire from this area.

The Toy Museum (actually called the Speelgoedmuseum de Kijkdoos) has a big collection of toys for children that were made in the 1800s all the way up until now, and they have all been separated into 3 sections. Of course, there are many different types of these toys, because it is a museum after all. This is definitely a family place to visit.

You will find a defensive watchtower called Hoofdtoren at the end of Veermanskade. This tower is a tall and solid brick structure that was built in 1532, and the base of it has a bronze sculpture that was made by Jan van Druten in 1968. The name of the sculpture is 'Three Ships' Boys'. Hoofdtoren may be the building that has its photograph taken more than anything else in the town. There is a restaurant in the tower that serves an array of fish dishes too.

A nice gallery that you can visit here is the Galerie Oost 99, which exhibits a huge number of works that are by popular Dutch artists. This artwork varies from posters, paintings, and prints to covers for books. Some of this art is available for people to buy, and there are many temporary displays that focus on divergent and modern art.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).
