What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

When arriving in Almaty, Kazakhstan customers can find a variety of car hire services as well as chauffeur services. Many different car hire companies operate out of Almaty International airport, and in the airport itself is a special VIP program. Almaty airport will drive customers directly to their plane, rather than having to go through the hassles of boarding.

Passengers will also be allowed to board up to 30 minutes before normal passengers and a microbus will then take passengers to the airplane they will be boarding. VIP passengers also have separate security check-in, as well as a separate lounge. The lounge operates with a full bar as well as a meeting area where passengers can hold emergency meetings if need be. There are also private rooms for certain passengers that need privacy for informal atmosphere needs.

The airport itself has handled up to 2 million passengers in the past two years and is steadily growing to meet with air traffic needs. By instituting such programs as the VIP program the airport has gotten a chance to express its excellent customer service and handling of customers. While only being granted International Airport status in 1998, Almaty International airport is growing and changing at the demands of the growing city around it and the changing amount of air traffic.

For the future Almaty plans to build a new passenger terminal as well as a luxurious Marriot hotel, most likely an extension of the already popular VIP program. Almaty International's VIP program will continue to grow along with the ever-changing airport of course continuing excellent customer service.
