Car rentals are great. Love the website, easy to use, great offers and if cancel 48hrs before always get money back. Love car rentals and will use again/always use. I’ll just avoid Italy car rent as worst experience ever had hiring a car and done it loads over the years.

A cosy seaport town of Marsala is located in the province of Trapani on the island of Sicily. This charming town is the birth place of Marsala wine and has become very popular with tourists all year round.

It was also the home of Lilybaeum, the focal point of the Carthaginian conquest in Sicily. The city was founded by Himilco in 396 BC. Neither Pyrrhus nor the Roman legions could take Lilybaeum until the Romans eventually conquered it in the 3rd century BC at the end of the First Punic War.

Under Roman rule, Marsala enjoyed considerable wealth and peace. It was the Arabs who gave the town its name; Marsala comes from the Arabic 'Marsa Allah', which means port of Allah. The old port was destroyed long ago, but a new one was built on the southeast side of the city. The port is easily accessible by car if you decide to opt for car hire in Marsala during your stay.

There is little that remains from the days of ancient Lilybaeum. There are remnants of the town walls, side walk stones and foundations of some buildings still remain from that period in the city's history. In the eastern half of the city is a great fosse which protected the city from attack by land and near by there are stone quarries. Finding this remarkable site is simple with car rental in Marsala.

Trapani Airport, also known as Birgi Airport, is situated 16kms north of Marsala. Car hire is available at this airport. For the best prices and a larger selection of cars, book online in advance.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?
