Ancona Airport is an important airport on the Adriatic coast of Italy as it services the capital of the Marche region. Ancona is one of the main ports here, with ferries taking passengers to destinations in the Adriatic: Dubrovnik, Split, Patras and others. Ancona Airport services two cities. Falconara Marittima is closer at under seven miles from the airport, while Ancona is 11 miles from the facility. Routes SS76 and SS16 connect the airport to these two cities. Taxis, buses and trains are available.
Trains
The train station closest to Ancona Airport is Castelferretti Station. It is located right across the street from the airport. From Castelferretti Station, passengers can head to Ancona Station where they can connect with the rest of the Italian railway network. Trenitalia runs five trains a day from Castelferretti to Ancona from early in the morning until early in the afternoon. The base fare is around £1.20.
Taxis
Taking a taxi from Ancona Airport can be done with the airport's taxi service: Consorzio Tassisti Falconara. Fares increase by 30 per cent at night time.

Buses
Buses are available from morning until early evening. The airport bus stop is right outside the terminal. The base fare for a journey within four miles costs around £0.85, increasing to £1.20 for the next four or so miles. Conero Bus Company has buses running between the airport and Ancona Railway Station. Finalmente Tours has six buses running daily between the airport and Ascoli Piceno further south, as well as other nearby destinations.
Terminals
Ancona Falconara is a small airport with only one runway and one terminal both for departures and arrivals. The airport is mainly connected with regional destinations such as Rome, Palermo, Cagliari, Tirana (Albania) and TimiÅoara (Romania). Ryanair flies to and from London-Stansted.
Parking
The car park is located right in front of the terminal building. Parking is free for the first 15 minutes. Sixteen minutes to an hour costs about £2.40. Two hours is £4, increasing by £0.80 by the hour after that.
