Miskolc Guide

Hungary's third largest city is Miskolc and is located close to the Bukk Mountains in the northeast of the country. Throughout the 20th century the city built its reputation as an industrial centre. Most of the attractions associated with the region are situated in the outlying areas and are easily reached with cheap car hire in Miskolc.

The downtown and historic area of the city is called Belvaros where you will find a few places of interest. Miskolc is a little lacking in fine buildings and monuments that you come to expect in Hungarian cities but the main street (Sz?�chenyi St) and the City Hall Square (V??rosh??z t?�r) are both worth exploring.

There are a couple of good shopping centres in Miskolc Plaza; the Miskolc Plaza and Szinvapark. Both are located in the downtown area and have a good range of stores and food outlets. Elsewhere in the city the local zoo provides a good afternoon out and with its hilltop location you might want to make use of car hire in Miskolc to get there.

The nearby town of Lillafured is a good place for a day out and easy to get to with car rental in Miskolc. A pleasant drive through the forests will take you to the village that sits next to Hamori Lake and is surrounded by the beautiful Bukk Mountains. Hungary's highest waterfall can be found here along with many fascinating caves.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).
