Xi is an intimate beach resort located on the western Greek island of Kefalonia at the southern end of its Paliki peninsula. Xi is relatively isolated from the rest of Kefalonia Island, so car rental in Kefalonia, Xi is highly recommended.

The best places to locate cheap car hire in Kefalonia, Xi are probably Xi's largest hotel, the 1970s style Cephalonia Palace, and the many smaller apartments for rent behind Xi Beach, most of which are blocked from view by surrounding flowers and gardens.

Xi Beach is the area's main tourist attraction. The beach's distinct red sand, shallow waters, and grey deposits in its surrounding landscape make it unique from most other Kefalonia beaches. The beach is rarely crowded, even in the middle of summer, and received the European Union Blue Flag award. Water skis, jet skis, and other water sporting equipment are available for rent.

Locals frequently mix the pale soil of the cliffs surrounding the beach with sea water to make a paste which can be rubbed on the skin as a clay mask which is said to be good for the skin and cure many skin diseases.

Although Xi's flat surrounding area is easy to explore by bike or foot, car hire in Kefalonia, Xi provides the only access to the rest of the beautiful beaches and countryside on the Paliki peninsula. Xi is a perfect holiday destination for visitors searching for a quiet place to get away from it all.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
