Nuremberg Airport, also referred to as Flughafen Airport, is located 7kms north of Nuremberg city center. The airport handles over three million passengers a year, flying to 60 destinations directly, while a short connection to one of the European hubs offers easy access to New York, Rio or Tokyo. There is one passenger terminal which deals with all flights. Essential facilities include a post office, bureau de change and two cash dispensers, located both in and outside the Arrivals hall.

Nuremberg Airport is located five kilometres to the north of its city in the region of Bayern in central, southeast Germany. Several major autobahns approach the airport from all directions and it is well serviced by subway and bus.

By train
The main rail station and the city centre are connected to the airport by the U2 subway line in only 12 minutes. The journey to the exhibition centre takes 25 minutes, with a change at the main rail station from the U2 line to the U1 line to Langwasser.

By bus
The airport is connected to the Nuremberg bus network as well as the subway network. Buses numbers 32 (from Thon terminal) and 33 (from Nürnberg-Buch) run to the airport.

By car, the A9 (Berlin–Munich) autobahn runs north-south and is connected to the airport via the A3. The A6 runs east-west to the south of the airport and is connected via the A9 and A3; while the A3 runs in from Frankfurt.
