Kreuztal is a town situated in the mountainous area of the Siegerland and is located about 10kms north of Siegen. The town has a long history and there are many fine examples of various architectural styles to be found in several areas Kreuztal.

The nearby mountains are one of the main attractions, providing hikers with a number of trails that can be reached by car. The town's highest peak is Hoher Wald, 655m above sea level. This is not open to the general public but several others nearby are.

The town is a little bit off the general tourist routes but there are still some quality hotels available along with several restaurants, bars and cafe's. Hiring a car in Kreuztal will allow you access to places of interest nearby such as the city of Altenberg, which exhibits the remains of a 13th century settlement.

In Kreuztal attractions include the local history museum, where there are displays of handicrafts, and home decor from the 17th and 18th centuries; and on the town's second highest peak is Kindelsbergturm, a 22 metre-high tower, from which you can get brilliant views of the surrounding area and great for taking quality photographs.

If you are travelling by car the town is crossed from the north to the south by the B54 federal highway. The B54n runs parallel to this in the south and links up with the A45 autobahn. The nearest airports to Kreuztal are Colgne (1hour west), Dortmund (1 hour north) and Frankfurt (1.5 hours south). Car hire is available from a number of suppliers from these airports.
