Homburg

Homburg is one of the richest towns in Germany due to its vicinity to Frankfurt. Also known formally as Bad Homburg Vor Dor Hohe, this town is well-known for its spa, mineral water used for medicinal purposes and casinos.

Homburg started as a watering place in the early 19th century and went to build casinos during the next few years. It also has the pride of having the first golf court in Germany.

Homburg has highly developed and easily accessible both by road and rail. As it lies in the intersection of the B423 and L119, it can be easily reached from both the routes. The railway station at Homburg (Saar) Hbf is only 0.80 Km from the town. The airport is a little far off from the town at a distance of 13.63Km.

Bad Homburg is placed in the state of Hesse in the district of Hochtaunuskreis and is spread over an area of 51.17km� at an elevation of 137-250m. It is lined along the southern slope of Taunus and shares its borders with Frankfurt and Oberursel among others.

Taxis are available for hire at a nominal rate for traveling within the town. Homburg also boasts of a tramway to the nearby castle of Saalburg and also offers river tourism for sight-seeing. These are other options other than the mentioned few.
