Dietzenbach Guide

Guide

Dietzenbach is the capital of the district Offenbach and is located about 15km to the southeast of Frankfurt am Main along the Bieber river. Before the Second World War, the city was originally a peasant village with fewer than 4,000 residents. Today there are now over 40,000 people living in the area, and the majority of these people do not originate from Germany.

A lot of agricultural structures are seen in Dietzenbach. Dietzenbach is bordered to the north by Heusenstamm, to the east is Rodgau, to the south is Rodermark and in the west is the town of Dreieich. Dietzenbach was first mentioned in the monastery Patershausen as Dicenbah. In the middle ages, it was referred to as the Ippingshausen and Richolshausen and was also called 'Gemarkung' in medieval times.

Dietzenbach has many churches the most important of all is St. Martin's Church. There are many municipalities based on these churches. They are 'Martin Luther', 'Jesus', 'Rut Kirchengemeinde' and 'Christ Church' municipalities.

Many celebrations take place in Dietzenbach each year s it is best to check which events are on and when, before booking your holiday. These celebrations are the typical example for the cultural diversity of Dietzenbach. The 'Festival Without Borders' takes place every year on the 1st July in Hessen tag park. 'The Feast of Beers' lasts for five days and will take place at the Harmony place. 'The wine festival' in the new center lasts for ten days. 'The Trinkbornfests' will take place in the Old City on the 1st and 2nd of September. 'The Kerb/Kirchweihs' always takes place on the last October weekend. It extends from the Harmony place to the Dietrich Bonhoeffer school. All these celebration make Dietzenbach a great place to be at.

If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
