Bensheim

The city is located in Hesse province in southwest Germany and has an open view over the Rhine. It is one of the largest cities in the council. The city has vast income from the grape farms that are found prominently here. The city has offices of major giants like Suzuki, Tyco International, and Siemens etc.

The year has its first documented evidence in the year 765 AD. Most part of the town was destroyed in a siege in the year 1301 by King Albert. During Second World War the town was one of the concentration camp of the Nazi. The city's population started growing towards the late 20th century.

The city can be accessed through the Auto Bahn A5 and A67. The nearest airport is at Frankfurt which is at about an hour from the city by Bus or taxi. The other cities that are near the town include Worms, Darmstadt, Heidelberg and Mannheim.

Located at an elevation of 123m above sea level and spread over a surface area of 58 square km. The city has a population of just over 40,000 residents. The city lies on the Mountain road.

The city has a fair amount of taxis for tourists to travel. You can hire them from just over 3 Euros. The city can also be traveled on rented bicycles which are one of the cheapest modes to see the city on your own.

The city has 2 museums that could help you learn more about the city's cultural and political past. The Bismarck tower, Kirchberg Cottage, the Parish church of st. George built in 19th century and the west city hall are the other major attractions.

The city has one of the earliest springs in Germany and has a pleasant summer. The winter temperature is also pretty normal with mild cold.
