Menton, also referred to as 'The Pearl of France', is situated on the picturesque French Riviera, and has been part of French history for centuries. Briefly captured by Italy during WWII, the city has since been restored and is now a popular tourist destination.

The town sits on the Franco-Italian border directly on the Mediterranean coast. Many of the town's historic and natural sites can be explored by car, so many tourists visiting this area decide to opt for car hire. The regions warm climate makes it the perfect site to grow lemons, oranges, and tangerines, which are all grown prolifically in the surrounding farmlands.

The town is also popular for its gardens as the local climate is quite temperate. Most notably are the Jardin Botanique Exotique de Menton, the Jardin Serre de la Madone, the Maria Serena and the Fontana Rosa gardens.
