Luneville is a small suburb in the Meurthe-et-Moselle region of France located in the northeast. The small city is situated on the Meurthe River and was the height of society centuries ago. High society would meet in Luneville to discuss politics, socialize, and enjoy the French countryside. A great way to enjoy the French countryside in the area is with car rental at Luneville.

The small prefecture has been the home to the Duke of Lorraine, Georges de La Tour the famous French painter, and Prince Charles Alexander of Lorraine. The most notable tourist attraction in the small town is the Ch??teau de Lun?ville, home of the dukes of Lorraine dating back to the 13th century. The chateau as long been called the '?the Versailles of Lorraine'? and had remained fully intact as of 2003. In 2003 a fire broke out damaging most of the structure. Repairs are underway, but visitors can still tour the chateau whilst under construction.

In 1980 the city became the home of another historic monument when a synagogue built Louis XVI's permission was named a Historic Monument. The synagogue was built in the 13th century, the first of its kind for France. Other historical sites include the palatial residence of Stanislaus I, although the house was damaged extensively in WWII. Most sites are most easily accessed with cheap car hire at Luneville.
