Dinan is a monumental town in itself located in France. It is a stunning and charming town that does not see too many tourists. However car hire in Dinan is perfect for exploring this less travelled town and also travelling to the country side surrounding it.

Dinan does not possess that many museums or galleries. However the town itself is a well preserved three km area. Inside this unknown town you will find streets filled with stunning medieval houses. Along the streets you will also see and smell some amazing creperies and cafes. Go in and sample them!

In Dinan you can get a good overview of the town's history by taking the Tour de l'Horloge. The Chateau de Duchesse Anne possesses a small museum worth a visit. However the towns pride is the St Sauveur Church which is a mix of Romanesque and Gothic design.

Near the river in Dinan you will find a small quay. Located here are some shops and some tasty restaurants. There is a weekly market on Thursdays which is worth dropping in to sample some local food or just to enjoy the lively atmosphere.

Using car rental in Dinan will allow you to travel to a town that almost is identically preserved. Drive about 15 miles and find the charming town of St Malo. This town boasts medieval houses and some good local shops. The town also puts on a good market and has a few tasty places to eat.
