Decazeville is a charming town in south west France. It is an old industrial town that is starting to attract tourists. Car hire in Decazeville is perfect for not only travelling around Decazeville but also around the more popular towns of Conques and Marcilla-Vallon.

Just two miles away form the Lot River, Decazeville is situated. The town is rich in geological history and many of the town's attractions aim to provide education about these subjects. The Pierre Vetter Museum of Geology gives you an example of the areas natural resources. The Maison de la Riviere Olt gives you information about the Lot Valley.

A lovely option for a day trip is to take the car to the surrounding villages of Boisse Penchot, Saint Parthem, Almont les Junies, Flagnac, Livinhac le Haut and Saint Santin which are all situated in the Lot Valley, just a short drive from Decazeville. Each village offers its own splendour and the drive through the landscape is stunning.

As Decazeville is a large commercial  town for the Mecanic Valley you are expected to see a delightful range of culinary treats. Stroll through the town and browse the different restaurants reading their menus outside, as each restaurant offers a range of local cuisines gathered from the surrounding local villages. Also in this region are many wine and cheese stores which you must try with fresh grapes.

Decazeville is also home to a stunning church and chapel. The first is Notre Dames Church and Gustave Moreau's Way of the Cross. It was built at the end of the 19th century and is a spectacular church. The Chapel of Gironde is the old chapel of the Castle of Gironde, inside there is a wooden virgin from the 14th century and a collection of stunning paintings. Both of these places are easily accessible by car.
