Le Cap d'Agde provides a holiday by the sea with a Mediterranean flavour. There are fourteen kilometres of beaches and buildings made of black volcanic rock giving a unique and natural look to the narrow streets and architecture. There are also a number of notable religious sites; the Cathedral of St-Etienne, for instance, which is a must see for anyone in the location.

Most famously (or infamously) there is a large naturist resort in Cap d'Agde, called the Quartier Naturiste, where nudity is legally allowed so be aware of this before you visit. This location hosts a nudist beach with restaurants bordering the south side should you want to eat out and in this case 'out' is taken very literally.

The Helopolis is the largest and most noticeable apartment block in Cap d'Agde with approximately eight hundred apartments that cater for two, four or even six people. The Villiage Helopolis is for those who prefer a villa location rather than an apartment; located just east of Helopolis, it has a hundred and twenty five houses for families.

Cap d'Agde also has a marina for sixty boats and a small, quaint boatyard. Here is also the Port Ambonne, a beautiful semi-circular building filled with four hundred apartments with a retail outlet, spas, an internet cafe and much more at ground level.

For sightseers the Wreck of Rouchelongue just west of Cap d'Agde, is a popular attraction and easily reachable by rental car (see below). It dates back to the Iron Age and held a cargo of 1,700 bronze artefacts and copper bars, unique in that they were exceptionally pure.
