Biscarrosse is a small resort town and commune located in western France, southwest of Bordeaux. It's known for having the world's oldest elm tree. The tree, believed to have been planted in 1350 is now nearly completely hollow, but is still an important historical landmark for the town. Biscarrosse also has a 14th century castle and two museums, a town museum and a seaplane museum.

The town offers a variety of activities ranging from horseback riding to golfing to fishing and water sports. It also has a cinema as well as mini-golfing for families. For the more adventurous there are opportunities for go-karting, para-sailing and sailing. For gamblers there is a casino in the town that offers all-night gambling. There are also beautiful beaches, as well as a children's beach club and even a surfing school. There is a gliding club as well as a ranch where travelers can have riding lessons or go riding along the beaches.

In the last decade Biscarrosse has had an ambitious program of creating walking and cycling tracks. Cyclists can follow a 20 km trail through the forests leading to many of the major attractions such as the large Biscarrosse villa. There is no need to bring your own bike as bike rentals are offered in addition to the normal car hire for visitors who wish to explore nature, as well as Biscarrosse's great history. With over 300 businesses, two shopping centers and a market the town combines the atmosphere of a small town, with a touch of the city, with that of a seaside resort.
