Another one from so many seaside resort in Bulgaria, is Pomorie. Now filled with about 15.000 populations, the city of Pomorie was almost destroyed by great fire in 1906. At that time, most of the town burned down, leaving only small houses in the Eastern part. But from there, the people who lived in Pomorie started to build again their town. Pomorie is one resort city that has both beaches and a lake. Pomorie Lake is located on the other side of the seaside part of the city.
Like many of the resort cities in Bulgaria, one of the Pomorie's main attractions is its old church buildings. In Pomorie we have the Transfiguration Church and the Assumption Church. These churches were build in the 18th or 19th century but until now they are still well preserved by the Government of Bulgaria. In the Transfiguration Church you will find ancient artefact which is a wood-carved Iconostasis. All these are considered national treasure by the Government.
