Tournai Guide

Tournai is the oldest city in Belgium, and it enjoys a place as one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. Located 85 kilometers outside of Brussels, it is easily accessed by either bus, train, or car, and receives hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

Often considered the most important cultural and historical site in Belgium, many of Tournai's buildings and locations have been included on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. Notre Dame do Tournai is just one such building. There are many interesting buildings in Tournai, and attractions such as the ancient Scheldt Bridge, first built in the 13th century, and the main town square is visited by the majority of travelers to the Tournai area.

With nearly 70,000 people living in Tournai, it's a major population center within Belgium. The land area of the town comprises over 200 square kilometers, making it one of the most sprawling cities in the country.

Once you get into Tournai, it's easy to get around. Car hire services are available at either train stations or in the town proper. To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?
