Kortrijk Guide

Kortrijk is a city of roughly 75,000 inhabitants, located within the Flemish region of Belgium. Located less than 50 kilometers from the much larger city of Ghent, Kortrijk is in a wildly popular area of the country. It is situated such that it receives many tourists each year, both because Kortrijk is a notable city in its own right, and due to its proximity to the tourist center of Ghent.

Kortrijk is popular in part due to its architectural diversity. Many of the buildings in the city are modern, while still others retain a large portion of the medieval properties. A large portion of the city's medieval buildings still stand, and are very well preserved. Historians and architects enjoy visiting the city to study the period architecture.

Car hire services are readily available for both residents and travelers, and getting to Kortrijk couldn't be easier. The city is situated along a major Belgian motorway. Visitors to the city should take time to study the Medieval city hall buildings, as well as the Saint-Martin Church, which was originally built in the 13th century, making it one of the oldest in Belgium. The church is easy to find, as it's the tallest building in the city, standing nearly 275 feet at the top of the tower. Or course, there are museums and shops located all around the city, and the museums do an excellent job of painting life in the local area throughout the centuries.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.
