The city of Chingola is famous for mining. It is situated in Zambia's copper-mining region, the Copperbelt Province. Chingola is also the site of the Nchanga Open Pit Mine, which is considered the second biggest open cast mine. The city has a small population of over 100,000 residents and getting around here is easy.

Chingola was once known as the cleanest city in Zambia. The city itself was born only after the Nchanga Open Pit Mine was opened in 1943. This mine is situated covering 11 kilometers of the city's western portion. The open pit mine is easily accessible with a car rental at Chingola.

Tourists can take a car hire at Chingola and visit the open pit mine, which is 400 meters deep. Also nearby is an underground mine. The city has a rich mining industry and this is mainly the source of the city's economy. The mining sites also attract tons of tourists from all over the world.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver.
