There are three different flight schools located at this airport: Atlantic Flight Service, Metro Flight Service, and Premier Flight Centre. Many passengers have reported seeing groups of deer in the nearby vicinity. Located at the airport area you will find two hotels called Park Inn and Days Inn.

Both of these hotels are less than half a mile from the airport. For transportation you can choose from popular car hire services, a local bus service, commuter rail service, or taxi. There is a cafe located at the airport that offers warm sandwiches and coffee.

There is an information booth on the ground floor that will give you information about baggage, flights, security, weather, carry-on regulations, pets, and more. Special security is provided to children flying alone. There is also a special insurance desk where you can purchase traveller's insurance.

The airport also offers a lost and found and a medical and emergency service area. You will also find a convenient place to convert your currency. For quick service through the baggage checking area make sure that all objects that are sharp such as nail files, scissors, jewellery, etc. are put in your checked bags.

The security at the airport is one of the most important aspects and you should be prepared to remove your shoes, belt, jewellery, or anything else that is on your body that has any form of metal. If you have a laptop it needs to be placed in a separate bin. Being well prepared will get you through and your way at the Hartford Airport.
