Dr. Russell Conwell founded this in the year 1884. The college of Temple was chartered in the year 1888 and after that in the year 1907 this became the Temple University. It is come to know from the public research that the 34,000 students of the university are selected from the 8 campuses and also include the 300 academic degree programs which include the programs like:125 bachelor programs, 52 doctoral programs 2 associate's degree programs, 8 professional degree programs like the pharmacy, podiatric medicines, medicine, law and dentistry and 113 masters programs.

The university covers an area of about 186 acres in suburban Ambler. This University offers program in regional and community planning, landscape architecture, horticulture and others. In the Elkins Park the Tyler School of Art is the 12 acres campus of the Temple University. The students can attend the professional and the graduate centres for the non credit courses and the graduate courses in the university fort at Washington. At the University of the Temple the students can also take the non credit course, graduate courses and the under graduate courses.

The university has the robust and the large program of studying in a foreign country with having the campuses in the Tokyo and Rome and the programs running with partner institutions in Beijing, Mumbai, London, Paris and the other major cities all over the world. The university also has the scholarship program to pay the passport fees to the students of the first year.
