Head east for Boylston to walk through the impressive Tower Hill Botanical Gardens or spend the day eating lobster in the bohemian seaside town of Rockport. Woods Hole, in Cape Cod, boasts a natural harbour, stunning beaches and lovely shops, while Taunton is a must for historians and nature lovers.
