One of southwest Turkey’s busiest gateways, Dalaman International Airport is set about three and a half miles south of the Dalaman city centre, about two hours from the seaside town of Kalkan and less than 30 minutes from the area’s mega beach resort: The Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme Resort & Spa. Dalaman International Airport offers connections to destinations throughout Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and domestic locations across Turkey. Car hire is by far the most advantageous form of ground transport for enjoying this beautiful region although taxi and bus services are also on offer to limited destinations.

Those looking to rent a car at Dalaman International Airport can head to the Arrivals hall in the new terminal to find check-in areas for Avis, Budget and Europcar. Additionally, meet-and-greet service is on offer from Sixt for those booking in advance.

Driving
Improved road conditions have made driving around Dalaman much easier than in years past, although foreign drivers are advised to drive defensively in Turkey. The popular road from Dalaman International Airport to Feyithe and Kalkan (D400) is well managed but has numerous sharp curves. Always ensure you’re carrying your passport and rental documentation as police run checks frequently in the region. Speed limits are 56mph for rural areas and 31mph in towns.

Transport

Arriving passengers can utilise taxi or bus services to several destinations in the region, although car hire offers a fantastic independent way to explore the area and can even be cost-effective for many holidaymakers.

Trains
There are no rail services to Dalaman International Airport or to the city of Dalaman. The closest rail station is in the city of Denizli, located around four hours to the north of Dalaman.

Taxis
Taxis can be acquired directly outside the Arrivals area of both terminals 24 hours. A trip into the city of Dalaman only takes around 10 minutes, whilst service to Kalkan takes about two hours. The ride to Gocek takes around 34 minutes and Feyithe is a little over an hour away. See below for fares.

Buses
Havas offers bus services from Dalaman International Airport to Feyithe and Marmaris, where passengers can connect to almost any major destination in Turkey. Buses leave the airport around 25 minutes after each arriving flight and will allow passengers to exit at any stopping point along the route.

Facilities

Terminals
Dalaman International Airport is comprised of two terminals – one for domestic flights and one for international flights. The newer international terminal is situated on the south end of the airport, whilst the older terminal is just a few hundred metres to the north. There is a walkway connecting the two facilities; no terminal transfer services are currently available.

Parking
There are nearly 600 parking spaces in the car park situated directly across from the international terminal building. Parking for less than one hour costs about £3; from one to three hours the cost is about £4; for three to six hours about £6; six to 12 hours is around £7; and for 12 to 24 hours the price is about £10. Monthly cards are also available for purchase.

Wi-Fi
High-speed Wi-Fi is available in the international terminal building after passport control in the Park Café area as well as in the CIP lounge.

Accessibility
Dalaman International Airport is capable of accommodating wheelchair and reduced mobility passengers. Passengers are advised to arrange assistance ahead of time with their airline; such services are provided by the carrier’s ground staff or ground operations provider.

Restaurants and Bars
Travellers can find dozens of food and beverage options in the international terminal. Prior to passport control, look for the lovely Café Turca, which features great views of the surrounding area, as well as the Rainbow Café, fresh coffee at the Goodbye Café and Burger King. Alternatively, head to the Park Café area in the Departure lounge to find Pizza Hut, McDonald’s and KFC as well as the Cool Zone, which offers sandwiches, pastas, cakes and various snacks and drinks.

VIP Lounges
The CIP Lounge is available in the international Departures area for a daily fee of about £16 per person. The facility offers high-speed internet, complimentary drinks and snacks, reading materials, satellite television and a comfortable atmosphere.

Money and ATMs
Passengers can find ATMs in both terminals, and there is also a Grananti Bankasi ATM near the car park. Currency exchange and banking services via Denizbank are available for limited hours in the Arrivals hall of the international terminal.

Shopping
Dalaman International Airport features a large assortment of gift shops offering local goods and basic travel accessories; these are located on both sides of the International terminal entrance. Moreover, a wealth of duty-free goods including cosmetics, spirits, tobacco products, chocolates, toys, clothing, jewellery and more are available beyond the passport checkpoint via UniFree. The airport also boasts AirLet, the ‘world’s first’ duty-free outlet store. Items on offer include designer goods, textiles, ceramics, crafts and collectibles.
