Car Hire Mia

One of your first stops on your Korean journey in Seoul, whether you are coming in by train or looking for a car hire is the Mia Station. The Mia Station is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 4. One of the most important places around the station and a must for tourists to visit is Myeongdong, a premier shopping district.

What Myeongdong offers, just a few steps away from the Mia Station is one of Seoul's top upscale fashion shopping destinations. Your first stop should be at one of the big, anchor department stores in the area like Migliore, Avatar, High Harriet, or the ubiquitous Lotte. This shopping will give you a glimpse at what a cosmopolitan city that Seoul has become, with the types of products you would find in New York, Paris and some of the other leading shopping spots in the world.

Another example of the clout that surrounds the Mia Station is the Myeongdong financial district. While it may not be an interesting spot for tourists, like New York's Wall Street, it is important to note that this area though small has the headquarters for Korea's financial giants like Kookmin Bank, Hana Bank, HSBC and the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

If you want to get away from all of that business busyness, you may want to do some more sightseeing in the area. Among the interesting places around Myeongdong are the Chinese Embassy and the UNESCO Hall. But the most intriguing building, which sticks out in a bold way is the Myeongdong Cathedral, an important place in the history of the country and seat of the first Roman Catholic parish built in the Republic of Korea.

The first stone for the cathedral was set down in 1892 in a ceremony held by Emperor Gojong. The building wasn't finished, because of war and other delayed until 1898. These days the church is still home to the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Seoul.
