Grayston Guide

Grayston is located just north of Johannesburg in South Africa. It is just a 15 minute drive to Johannesburg city centre along the De Villiers Graff motorway. An ideal way to explore Johannesburg and the surrounding area is with car rental at Grayston.

With car hire at Grayston, you can visit the sprawling town of Soweto where you can visit Freedom Square, which represents the country's struggle for liberty, the fascinating Nelson Mandela Museum and see Desmond Tutu's home.

With cheap car hire at Grayston, you can head out to Pilanesberg Nature Reserve and try and spot the 'Big 5.' Although animal sightings are never guaranteed, there are over 7,000 animals in the park, so you should have some success. Close by is Sun City where you can try your luck and maybe win a fortune in the casinos.

A fun daytrip from Grayston is to Gold Reef City Amusement Park and casino. There are plenty of roller coaster rides and an opportunity to go underground into a gold mine and learn how to pan for gold.

Another interesting place to visit is the Cradle of Humankind which is a World Heritage site. Here you take a boat ride underground into lime caves beneath an ancient burial site and visit an exhibition on the history of humankind.
