Khamis Mushayt is located in south-western Saudi Arabia. The city's name is derived for the famous regional market held there every Thursday.

The city is the largest of it's province, and known for its large population of the Shahran Tribe. Car hire in Khamis Mushayt is a good way to acquire transportation to explore the region which is rich in agriculture.

The city is accessed from air transport via the Abha Regional Airport, located about 35kms outside of the city. From the regional airport flights can be secured to larger cities with international airports such as Jeddah and Riyadh.

The city is best known for its large air force base, King Khalid Air Base, and its agriculture, of which was its main function prior to a population boom back in the 1970s. What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
