This is the first time

Ensenada Guide

Ensenada, located on the Baja peninsula, was first by Portuguese navigator Don Juan Rodriguez in 1542. It is the 3rd largest city in the Mexican state of Baja California.Visitors to Ensenada will benefit from car hire as it allows for more freedom and is cheaper than travelling by taxi. Overlooking the Baja de Todos Santos, a Pacific inlet, Ensenada is bordered by small mountain ranges. This fertile area is best known for its vineyards, many of which can be visited in your car hire. San Vicente, Santo Toms and Guadalupe are the best areas for wine tasting. Chateau Camou, on the outskirts of Ensenada, offers tours with the winemakers as well as the chance to taste and purchase their fantastic vintages. Each August, The Fiestas de la Vendima celebrates this area's wine and provides a chance to sample it too.

Originally a small fishing village, this seaside resort boasts some of Baja's most exciting nightlife. Miramar Street in the town centre is the home of many cantinas, nightclubs and restaurants. The restaurants in this part of Ensenada will leave you spoiled for choice with menus specialising in local, Chinese, Italian and French cuisines. Located close to the beach, it is little surprise that a number of eateries provide fresh seafood dishes.

In your car hire, you can visit cities including Tijuana, Mexicali and San Diego which are just 70 miles drive. While Tijuana is known for its clubs, cosmopolitan Mexicali has fantastic shopping and cultural attractions. Rosarito Beach is well known for its lobster eateries and is a short drive from the U.S. border. San Felipe offers a mild climate all-year round as well as beautiful beaches and excellent water sports facilities.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.
