Utsunomiya Guide

Utsunomiya is just 100 kilometers north of Tokyo. This city is the base of Japan's top manufacturers such as Canon, Honda, and DuPont. Utsunomiya can be accessed by the Bullet Train in 60 minutes from Tokyo. When you arrive in Utsunomiya there is an information desk that can help you in your adventures and with all of your destination needs.

There are a variety of events that go on year round filling the streets with hundreds and thousands of visitors attracted by the large flea markets, tasty food stalls, and savory plates of gyoza and curry. Japan's top jugglers roam the streets to add fun and enthrallment to all of the city's visitors. The smoke-free spots in the city are very limited. The two that are most popular are the two Starbucks Coffee shops that are located in FKD and the other in PARCO.

There are many site seeing spots including the Utsunomiya City Museum that attracts many tourists. The museum is open from 9:30am and closes at 4:30pm. The city doesn't offer a subway but their bus system is very thorough. There are two free shuttle bus services that are available in two different areas of Utsunomiya. There are two beautiful and exotic parks that you should visit while you are in Utsunomiya.

The first one is called Romantic Mura and it has a beautiful flower dome with a convenient food court along side. The admission is free to the park and it cost 410 yen for the Flower Dome while children are free. The other park you should visit is called Hachimanyama Park and don't forget to visit the Utsunomiya Zoo. Other than beautiful parks and the zoo there are nice shopping centers such as La La Square and a wonderful mall called the Bell Mall that is located only 10 minutes away by bus. There is much more to explore in Utsunomiya.
