Matsuyama is a city situated in the Shikoku region of Japan. It is also the capital of Ehime Prefecture. Matsuyama when translated literally means a mountain of pine trees. It first became a city on the first of December in 1889.
The city of Matsuyama occupies an area of approximately four hundred and twenty eight square kilometres or around one hundred and sixty five square miles. There are also international flights from Asian cities such as Seoul in South Korea and Shanghai in China.
