Mandevile Guide

The Golf View Hotel is located at 5 1/2 Caledonia Road in Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica. The hotel overlooks the island's oldest golf course and one of the oldest courses in the Caribbean. While the hotel offers modest size rooms, it does have a score of amenities including a pool, poolside dining, a restaurant, room service, large conference rooms and an on-site wedding coordinator.

Mandeville has a population of nearly 50,000 people. It is the capital of Jamaica's Manchester parish and the only such capital not located near a major body of water. It is situated on a plateau 628 meters above sea level. It is 103 kilometers west of the Kingston, Jamaica.

The town is brimming with 19th century buildings. Mandeville was designed in 1816 and many of the original buildings still remain. The oldest among these are the courthouse and the rectory, both built in 1820. Despite its rustic charm, Mandeville is a major commercial hub.

Just 30 miles south of Mandeville, along the banks of the Milk River, is the Milk River bath. It is formed by water from the world's most radioactive mineral spring. The water from this spring is at a constant 30 degrees. Suffers, generally those afflicted with arthritis or rheumatic pain, seek the Milk River Bath for its alleged curative powers. The radioactive water is so dangerous that baths are limited to two 15-minute sessions a day.

Travelers to the area will benefit greatly from a car hire. The shops, sights and eateries within a short ride of the Golf View Hotel and within Mandeville make your trip worth while, but only if you have a car hire to save those flip flopped feet in paradise.  What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?
