I phoned to change the

I phoned to change the time for pick up and return of the car. It was not a good experience. I was told I could not do it and encouraged to book an up grade. I wanted to change my booking and return by 4 hours from 10.00am to 2.oo pm. I was told it was not possible to change it. I was told a car would not be available. I said I would take the risk and ended up in cancelling my booking and then re booking on line. Not helpful. I almost did not use your site to re book.

The harbour town of Vairire is the first port of call for those making a sea connection from Papeete in Tahiti to the paradise island of Moorea. Located on the north east coast, the town is home to several shops, restaurants and marina. When exploring this island, that is said to have inspired James Michener's island paradise of Bali Hai, Vaiare is ideal for exploring by land.

Moorea's 60 km road network is best explored by car to make the most of all the island has to offer. Car hire in Vairare downtown can be found at: Quai Des Ferries, Vaiare, PF. You will need to provide your booking agent with a credit card and documentation including your passport and driving license.

The closest town to Moorea is the sleepy town of Haapiti on the island's north coast. Le Petite Shopping Village can be found here, as well as a charming coral church. Those in search of a handcrafted pareo should head to Bowsers in the village.

Moorea's mountain passes, flower-filled valleys, white sand beaches and turquoise bays await you in your car hire. Venturing along the coastal road will allow you to take in stunning views, such as the Teavaro headland which is located near Temae.

A drive along the Pineapple Road in your car hire will take in Moorea's fertile valleys which lie near Cook's Bay and Oponohu Bay. There are many plantations to be found in this area which grow papaya, sugar cane, bamboo and grapefruit.

Near the bays is the delightful coastal village of Pao Pao. There you will find a busy harbour market offering fresh seafood and produce as well as a selection of excellent eateries. There are several small crafts shops which are ideal for picking up a memento of your stay in Moorea.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.
