What does “one-way rental” mean and how much does it cost?

A one-way rental means that you pick up your rental car at one station and return it at another. Since the stations are not the same, the car rental company will apply a one-way fee that covers the costs of returning the vehicle to its original station. The fee is determined by the rental company according to the distance between the two locations, and is generally to be paid locally when you pick up the car.
