Less than an hours drive north of Nanaimo are the Englishman River Falls which should definitely be on your itinerary. To view interesting native rock carvings take a trip south of the city to Petroglyph Provincial Park, its a sight not to be missed. Another great attraction is located within the city itself called the Bastion, which is an octagonal shaped white building with a museum to explain its history.

Transport
