Douala is the major business center of Cameroon situated on the estuary of the Wouri River at the Gulf of Guinea. It has a population of approximately 800, 00. There are quit a number of industries in the province which include; Cacoa beans, textiles and aluminum. It used to be the capital of the Germany colony of Cameroon. The city has lots of business opportunities available, which may be of great interest to investors. It is the largest city in the country and manages up to 95% traffic from the port. There are many companies that provide transport services as most of them want to take advantage of the high business gains at the port. Renting a care is very easy as all you have to do is look for the many car rental dealers available at the port. The car rentals are very cheap and affordable although most of their vehicles are now dilapidating. The services offered are quite good but there is need for the companies to upgrade their fleet and maintain them properly. This is mainly due to the lack of qualified service staff for the vehicles.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
